My gift to my mom and sister was cooking Christmas Eve dinner. I made Charles Short's Recipe for Chicken Caprese with Asperagus and Angel Hair pasta. He made it when we had Laura's going away party and it was amazing.
6 Chicken Breasts
3 cloves of garlic, chopped
Olive oil (which has been infused in fresh chopped garlic)
6 TBSP of butter
1 cup chicken broth
2 tbs chicken bullion
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup capers
1 Flour the chicken and fry in olive oil 3 min per side.
2 Dump oil and let chicken sit on paper towels for a sec.
3 Melt butter and saute garlic in it on a med low heat. After a min add chicken broth and bullion. Stir all together.
4 Add lemon juice and capers. Stir and then add fried chicken back to sauce. Cook the sauce down for about 10 min.
I steamed asparagus and cooked angel hair pasta. Serve the chicken on top of the pasta and pour the left over sauce over the whole plate.

Traditional Macaroni and Cheese
1 2/3 cups dry, elbow pasta
2 TBSP Cornstarch
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
12 fl oz Evaporated milk
1 cup water
2 TBSP butter
2 cups shredded cheese
1 Preheat oven to 375º
2 Combine cornstarch, salt, mustard, pepper in a saucepan. Stir in evaporated milk, water and butter. Cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly. (Me and sissy burnt the bottom, be careful!) Boil from 1 min.
3 Remove from head and stir in 1 1/2 cup cheese. Add uncooked noodles.
4 Put in casserole dish and put remaining cheese on top.
5 Bake for 25 min.
