I placed everything behind a cut because this entry has been in the works for many many days now! :D

Well Slaying the Dragon was produced in 1988 .. so its kind of old. Ok by old I mean outdated in ways, but it still was very interesting to hear what they had to say about asians in cinema. I want to go watch a lot of these influencial videos now (The World of Suzie Wong .. er The Good Earth, The Thief of Bagdad .. geeze i need to rewatch and write down the movies they talk about .. i can't find any online >.>;;). It was interesting because I'm not one to really notice race. Like one of the biggest shocks in my life was when I learned Dain was asian. I still remember that morning so well. Us lounging around and I said "Dain, your eyes look weird from this angle, you are freaking me out." "Its cos I'm asian" "::me falling off the couch:: uh .. no .. you are swedish? ::the cruel reality hitting me that not all swedish people look just like dain::" >.> .. <.<.. -.- I just don't notice stuff like that..

So to hear asian women complain about how men notice and hit on them because of their race, because they are exotic, because they -must- genetically know how to pamper men, well that was just woah, weird for me. And they were talking a lot about inter-racial marriages and how it effects the kids, and I kept thinking about Jenn, even if I don't want to think about her.

I'm going to get up tomorrow morning and re-watch it. I feel it had a lot of info and I didn't absorb it all. I want to write a really good paper for hester. In class on friday he gave us a lecture about how he "can tell when you write your paper and just turn it in." and how he likes revisions.

Good morning Japan!
So I was overly paranoid about being late and hasseling Dan, so I left early, ran by Mr Donut to pick us up munchies (but they were out of Maple muffins! alas! so I left empty handed D:) And met with him at the station, hopefully right on time -.-;;. We had fun train hoping. And just chatting. Once we got there we window shopped and wasted a little bit of time. At 10 we were outside the gates .. and nobody shows up. Dan was really pacient with me and we waited. Maybe they were meeting at the train station? Wait .. Wait.. Wait. Nothing. You know it'd be impossible to miss a huge group of Gaijin being given a tour. I worry I'm stupid and forgot the correct time. I worry about everything. We deside to tour on our own. I had a ton of fun alone with Dan, and I hate big groups AND I LOOKED AT THE FLYER AND I HAD THE RIGHT TIME! (-.- but we were meeting at the train station, but still they should have showed up within ten minutes tops, I don't know what happen! ::flail::) I hate sucking at life .. Here are pictures >.>

HAhahaha. That's like trying to cuase trauma to poor little children. How in the world are they supposed to figure that out? I guess maybe they wouldn't have to look at it in romanji, but still...

Looks like the shrine was fun again! I love the pictures. You are very cute in the picture where you are purifying yourself.
Yay!
<hugs her> Hope your weekend continues well, babe!

My favorite Japanese tongue-twister is basu gasu bakuhatsu, "bus gas explosion." It's harder than it looks. Atatakai is a real tough one when you get to past-negative-plain form: atatakakunakatta. That's a hell of long way to say "it was warm!"

I later learned that the feathers are a fund-raising tool, although I don't know what they are raising funds for. Hopefully it was something benevolent but I feel kind of guilty that I only gave them 10 yen (<$0.10).

In photographing me at the fountain (thanks a lot for taking all these pictures BTW) you manged to capture that poor lady who was very upset. I hope she felt better eventually. I'd hate to think she's still sitting there. Speaking of worries, you don't have to worry about me. I'm very patient when it comes to people. When it comes to spelling though I am a vicious bastard: it's Kuzuha.
